1. Active-Organizational Member—is a company or facility that provides social services or social services consultations in a Florida licensed long-term care (LTC) setting. Examples include, but are not limited to: nursing homes, subacute care and specialized units, hospices, assisted living facilities (ALFs), adult day care centers (ADCs), adult foster homes, retirement communities, swing beds, home health agencies and hospital-based units. NOTE: This category is for social workers and is not intended for vendors.

Active-Organizational members pay dues, vote and are eligible to hold elective district and state office. If there is more than one social worker/social service designee, all social workers/social service designees have membership privileges, although the facility’s organizational membership has only one (1) vote. Membership privileges remain with the facility and are not transferable.

2. Active-Individual Member—is a social worker or social service designee who works in a long-term care (LTC) setting or provides social services or social services consultations in a Florida licensed LTC setting. Examples include, but are not limited to: nursing homes, subacute care and specialized units, hospices, assisted living facilities (ALFs), adult day care centers (ADCs), adult foster homes, retirement communities, swing beds, home health agencies and hospital-based units. NOTE: This category is for social workers and is not intended for vendors.

Active-Individual members pay dues, vote and are eligible to hold elective district and state office. Membership privileges remain with the individual professional.

3. Associate Member—is a business or provider in a related health field. Examples include: transportation providers, medical professionals, medical equipment providers, home health agencies, attorneys, etc.

Associate members pay dues and are members in the district in which they are located. Associate members who want membership privileges in other districts must also pay membership dues for associate membership privileges in each district in which they desire membership privileges. Associate members do not vote and may not hold elective state office, but may serve as follows at the district level: secretary, treasurer or committee chairperson (except nominating chair).
